Zoo

Over the long Memorial Day weekend we made our first trip to the zoo with Kai.  He knows the names of a lot of animals now so we thought he'd enjoy seeing them in person for a change, instead of in a book.  I think his favorite part of the adventure was walking around a big new place.  Secondly, he liked seeing the animals, although sometimes we'd have to convince him that the real animal was more interesting than the picture of the animal on a sign.  Mostly Kai just loves to see an animal he knows and call out it's name:  Bebra!! (zebra)  Birdie!! (bird/peacock/pelican/etc)  May!! (horse (neigh!))  Cheetah! (he actually gets that one right, although can be confused with dee-da for kitty cat, which can be confused with tee-da for clock (tick tock)).

Some pictures from our zoo day:

SO fun! we need to try the zoo again now that it's warmer...the first time we went, it was still a bit chilly and a lot of the animals stayed inside. :( didn't that incline just kill you? or maybe we're just out of shape? ;)

and p.s. carson calls horses "may"s, too!
