Easter weekend was eventful for several reasons: (1) We visited some of my family; (2) On the way up to said visit, Kai saw his first real freight train in action as we drove by a train station -- he was so excited when he realized that it was a real train moving along the tracks! And what was also neat about it is that my Dad actually had a picture of that train station hanging above his fireplace, and my brother still has the picture. It will be fun to show Kai that picture when he's older and tell him about his first real train sighting, and of course it's extra special since it's kind of a connection to my Dad; and (3) Joe & Patti arrived home from Florida with news that they set a date and found a place for their wedding!
Seeing my family was wonderful -- we are spread out a little more now and so it keeps getting harder and harder to get everyone together. Kai got to see his cousins again and had fun playing in my nephew's huge yard.

Earlier in the week, Kai received a fun package from his Grams and Maw-Maw to celebrate Easter and the arrival of spring. Among other things, it included jelly beans of course, and this orange sunhat:
